Netiquette

Trainees are expected to treat their fellow Trainees, their Instructor, their Assessor, and FEMFI personnel with respect.

  • Exhibit the same courtesy to your fellow Trainees, Instructors, and Assessors, as you would expect to receive in the workplace. It is okay to disagree about the subject matter. But, be open-minded and accepting of constructive criticism and difference of opinion.

  • Make certain that your tone is positive and professional before you leave a message or a comment. Please note that everything you submit online is being recorded.

  • Bashing is when someone attacks a person instead of the logic of his or her argument. Bashing will not be tolerated.

The use of internet access is required for all training programs that will be delivered via Blended Learning. Access must be used in a responsible, safe, efficient, ethical, and legal manner. Availability of inappropriate material onlineĀ  is not uncommon, we are urging Trainees to be careful and be responsible in browsing the web while undergoing training.

  • Do not forward any chain letters, jokes, memes, marketing material,Ā  or pornographic material to the class.

  • Do not use the discussion forums for personal communications.

Always use formal writing and communication when inside an online class.

  • Use proper English and avoid using slang and emoticons.

  • Profanity is never acceptable and will not be tolerated.

  • Avoid jargon, unless the majority of the class knows it.

  • Writing in all caps and overuse of exclamation points will be considered shouting. No shouting inside the class.

  • Be clear and concise: Do not burden the class with rambling, repetitive postings.

Respect privacy.

  • Class discussions are open forums for the entire class and should not be used as a medium forĀ  private conversations. If you have something private to say to your fellow Trainee or to your Instructor, send them an email instead.

  • Do not spam your fellow Trainees or your Instructor. Do not invite them to see your social media accounts, listen to your sales pitches, or discuss anything not course related.

Actively participate in class discussions. Trainees who do not participate in the online activities are more likely to be marked as absent.

Regularly check discussion forums to be updated on class activities and other important information.

Missing a deadline will result in a failing grade for a class activity.

Always save your work to prevent losses due to unstable internet connection or power outages.

It is illegal to create and share harmful computer viruses.

Breach of Netiquette

Any violations of these policies may result in any number of negative consequences, including:

  • A failing grade in a class activity

  • Being marked as absent

  • Class eviction

  • Termination of enrollment

FEMFI will cooperate fully with local and national officials in any investigation related to any illegal activities conducted through internet access. In the event there is a claim that a Trainee has violated this policy, he/she will be provided with notice of the suspected violation and will have an opportunity to present an explanation. Proven violations will result in disciplinary or legal actions.
