Trainee's account

When we  create your account using our enrollment system, we collect the following personal information you provide directly, including:

• Full name

• Date of birth

• Home address

• Mobile number

• Email address

• Signature

• Seafarers Registration Number (generated by the MARINA Integrated Seafarers Management Online System or MISMO)

• 2x2 ID Picture

• Government issued ID (eg. passport, drivers license, seaman’s book)

• Courses you will take

Payment information

If you decide to enroll in one of our courses and pay using our online payment gateway, our online payment service provider will collect certain information necessary to process your enrollment. You are required to provide the following information to our payment service provider (please click here for BUX.PH data privacy policy):

• Full name

• Date of birth

• Home address

• Area code

• Mobile number

• Credit card details

• Debit card details

**Please take note that Far East Maritime does not store sensitive information such as credit card and debit card details, as well as any banking authentication information.

Why we collect your personal information

We collect your personal information due to the following purposes:

• Strictly necessary for the enrollment process as required by the Maritime Industry Authority of the Philippines (MARINA)

• Strictly necessary for protection against fraudulent access to our Learning Management System

• Improvement of our system’s performance when we collect feedbacks from you

• Identification of unique profiles across our Enrollment System

Selected third parties

We may disclose personal information about you to third parties in our sole discretion for the following reasons:

• Required as part of a valid subpoena, warrant, or other valid request

• Necessary in our discretion to protect against imminent harm to our employees, our properties, our IT infrastructure, other FEMFI customers, or members of the public.

• Necessary for the purpose of internal, external, and certification body audits

Information security

Far East Maritime takes appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your personal information that we collect and store. However, no system can be 100% secured, so we cannot guarantee that communications between you and our website, Enrollment System, and APIs or any personal information provided to us in connection with the data we collect will be free from risks.

Your password is an important part of our security measures, and it is your responsibility to protect it. Do not share your password with any third party, and if you believe your password has been compromised, you should change it immediately or contact us through any of our communication channels.

Your rights

You have certain rights around the use of your data, including:

• The ability to opt out of promotional emails and text messages

• The ability to reject our placement of cookies in your browser

• The ability to update or terminate your profile in our enrollment system database at any time
